This quilt had a lot more meaning behind it then just being my second go at quilting. My Aunt who is like a second mom to me helped me with this quilt and it was being made for a very special cousin and her awesome husband for their Anniversary.
It was such a wonderful time spent with my Aunt we laughed and joked as we had to rip seam out from not paying close attention but who cares it was all fun and that is what I have always wanted my quilting to be not a race to get something done or something that had to be done but something I could share with others and have fun doing. We had the quilt laid out on the bed when Debbie and Jason came for a visit we didn't say anything all I told her is that she could not cry because I would end up in tears too. Well you know how that end we both had tears running down our faces and laughing at the same time. This is why I make the quilts. I love seeing them getting so much joy out of them.
I have to say that I would change one thing on this quilt if I knew then what I know now, and that is I would have never put the pictures on using the iron on transfer sheets, I would have used the Cotton Lawn that I use now. The iron on has problems sticking and then as time goes on it cracks and the pics start to chip away. With the Cotton Lawn it fades but not bad and hold up very well. Here is the link to what I use now when I add pictures to the quilt www.electricquilt.com/Shop/Printing/LawnR.asp.
This quilt only took about a week to make once we had the fabric cut and the pictures picked out. Picking out the pictures is the hardest you want to use so many but know that you have a limited number you can place on the quilt! In the end we ended up with what you see above!
